Imprenta Brambila en Guadalajara

Este dato parece ser importante. Mi abuelo Felilpe Brambila dice: En Guadalajara hubo un senor Jose Maria Brambila que fue quien establecio la segunda imprenta de la ciudad, porque la primera la establecio don Jose N. Romero. La imprenta Brambila estaba por la calle del Seminario despues calle del Liceo; la tercera cuadra a la derecha de venir al norte, donde se ven unos portales de puertas y ventanas de moluduras antiguas.　

En efecto la primera imprenta fue la de la Misericordia, del Hospicio Cabanas. Parece que hay confusion y algunos citan una serie de impresores pero en realidad estaban supervisados por la autoridad ecleciastica, el gobierno logicamente queria tener un instrumento de difusion y es asi que se le encomienda la imprenta del gobierno a Jose Maria Brambila. “Tratandose del instrumento de difusion ideological mas importante en ese tiempo, el temor del clero no era solo perder control de esta imprenta, sino que se enfrentaba el riesgo de que fuera a caer en manos del gobierno o grupos afinesa a su discurso. Era obvio que en el enfrentamiento ideologico Iglesia-Estado, este llevaba la delantera tras el establecimiento, el 27 de Marzo de 1827, de la imprenta del gobierno recomenda a Juan Maria Brambila” fuente de information: Revista Universidad de Guadalajara.

Early Conquest of Nueva Galicia

Grandpa Felipe N. Brambila was always on a quest; a quest to find his ancestors. He notes that he is quite puzzled at the early data he is able to collect. He knows that Hernan Cortez the Conquistador of the Americas landed in Cozumel island on February, 1519 (VAEH.edu.Mx). Felipe credits Sebastian de la Mota Padilla, attorney at law and historian with the data that he provides me in regard to the newly formed Nueva Galicia region and the involvement of the Brambila family in its implementation. He reports two soldiers who seem to be the earliest persons with the Brambila surname. They are captain Francisco de la Brambilla and alferez Diego de la Brambilla. Apparently, Don Francisco Cortez de la Buenaventura, who was the first Alcalde of Colima and a nephew of the Marquez del Valle was in charge of the conquest of this region of Mexico.

My Uncle Malaquias Fregoso

I have vague memories of Malaquias Fregoso. He was my baptism godfather. He would come to visit my family while we lived in Mexico City. My memory is that of a tall person, always dressed in three-piece suits and walking with the assistance of a cane, with a Doberman carved in the handle. He would bring me a bag a fruit, almost always my favorite, luscious plums. Shortly after my parents passed away, I found an old picture of Malaquias. It depicts a tall gentleman, with a young gal and a lady. Now, the dedication in the back of the picture reads: It is with love that I dedicate this picture of my parents to my dear aunt Maximiana (my paternal grandmother) as they celebrate their fortieth wedding anniversary. I assume the adult lady is Nicolasa Madrigal, Malaquias' wife. Signed by Eliza. My genealogical research indicates Eliza to be one of the Fregoso family. DNA Results

 I have been thinking about doing a DJNA test as to ascertain my genealogical origins. I selected FamilyTreeDNA as the laboratory to conduct such test. I started by requesting a Y chromosome study, which means the chromosome that is passed from father to son. Here are some results: My Haplogroup is J-Z631. My understanding as a lay person is that Haplogroup refers to a genealogical tree branch. According to FamilyTreeDNA my paternal line was formed when it branched from the ancestor J-Z8421, and the rest of mankind, around 1900 BCE.  The man who is the most recent common ancestor of this line is estimated to have been born around 950 BCE (FamilyTreeDNA.) He is the ancestor of at least six descendant lineages known as J-Y87605, J-Z1043, J-Y144394, J-BY178901, J-FT101890, and J-PH9933.
