My grandfather was Juan Jose Araiza. He was married to Maximiana Fregoso Fernandez. She married Juan Jose Araiza in 1888 when she was 20 years old. Juan Jose was born circa 1850. He was baptized on June 26, 1851 in Talpa, Jalisco, Mexico. His parents were Jose Maria Salome Araiza and Francisca (aka Franca) Reynoso Delgado. His maternal grandparents were Jose Antonio Bictor Reynoso Contreras and Maria Tomasa Delgado Aguilar. (My source is Erik Reynoso, professional genealogist.)
The passing of my grandfather happened on October 5, 1906. He passed away in the town of Sebastian del Oeste, Jalisco, Mexico. He passed away of bronco-pneumonia, The death certificate states that he passed away without medical assistance. He was 55 years old.

My father was two years old when his father passed away.
My parents once told me that my widowed grandmother suffered greatly due to his passing. I have been told she was a chamber maid. It must have been difficult to raise three children by working menial jobs.
When my mother passed away in the 1980s, I was given this picture of my grandfather. The dedication in the back of the picture does not make any sense to me based on my limited knowledge of his life. There are two dedications: The first dedications is from my grandfather to his brother (whose name is illegible). It is dated April 10, 1888. The location is Haciendas Las Victorias (the place where he died) The second dedication is signed by a person named Rafael. It reads: This is a picture of my uncle Juan Araiza. It further notes: This dedication is to you, aunt Maximiana and my cousins. The second dedication is dated December 17, 1923. I recently found out, through RootsTech, a website sponsored by the Church of the Latter Day Saints, that Rafael Araiza Guzman is the person who signed the picture.
My grandfather was baptized on June 26, 1851 in Mascota Jalisco, Mexico. The baptismal record notes his given name was Juan Jose Araiza Reynoso. The document identifies Jose Maria Araiza and Francisca Reynoso Delgado as his parents. There is only one name noted as paternal grandparent: Francisca Araiza. Maternal grandparents are Jose Anotnio Reynoso and Tomasa Delgado.
My great-grandmother's name was Francisca Reynoso Delgado. She was baptized in Talpa de Allende, Jalisco, Mexico on March 25, 1831. She is the daughter of Antonio Reynoso and Tomasa Delgado. She was buried at a church in Guadalajara named Sagrario Metropolitano on April 10, 1889. Paternal grandparents: Vicente Reynoso and Maria Contreras. Maternal grandparents: Ignacio Delgado and Maria de Jesus Aguilar.
A genealogy expert recently told me: Yours is a peculiar case since Talpa de Allende is far from the region where most of the Reynoso located. Still, the marriage record of Antonio Reynoso and Tomasa Delgado indicates that Antonio was not from Talpa (she was) he was from San Sebastian del Oeste. I recommend that you search for "informe matrimonial" to Antonio and Tomasa Delgado, the informes usually contain helpful information. The documentation of San Sebastian del Oeste can be found in the Ecclesiastical Archive of Tepic. My source is Erik Andres Reynoso y Marquez. International Association for Genealogical Studies. Cologne, Germany.
One interesting point is that my aunt Felicitas was born in Tepic, Nayarit.
